2007-2009
After joining a women's artist co-op (MamaCita) in 2007, my work took a decidedly more prolific turn. I was invited to show more often than I had ever been in my life up to that point. Nothing beats a deadline for giving you a kick in the creative butt. Being a mother and working outside my chosen craft, it seemed inevitable that I would turn to mediums that were easier to leave lying about (I had so little time to work/clean/work). I also found that I enjoyed drawing way more than I remembered and so embarked upon the series' you see here. I found a natural rhythm working in little mini series, each upcoming event sparking a new round of inspiration and experimentation.
This work is mostly on paper using colored pencil for the bulk of the medium. There are some exceptions and they are listed with the work.
